Every belt, every grading, on the record
Set your rank ladder once. Run grading events with candidates and results, promote on a pass, and limit advanced classes to the ranks they're built for — all on each student's profile.

Belt & rank trackingWhere it breaks
- 1
Ranks live in the head instructor's head
Who's a blue belt, who tested last spring, who's been a yellow belt for two years — it's in a notebook, a spreadsheet, or nowhere.
- 2
Grading day is paperwork day
Candidate lists, results, and new belts written up by hand — then typed in later, if anyone remembers.
- 3
Beginners wander into the advanced class
Without ranks attached to the schedule, the only gate is the coach noticing at the door.
Belt & rank tracking, on CornerDesk
Your ladder, your names
Start from White → Black or Beginner → Advanced, then rename, add, and reorder rungs to match your school — stripes or tips included, if you grade them.
Grading events, start to finish
Schedule a grading, add candidates, and record each result — passed, not yet, or withdrawn — with notes and who evaluated. A pass promotes the student automatically.
Rank history on every profile
Each student's profile shows their current rank and every grading they've sat, with the rank before and after.
Classes gated by rank
Give a class a minimum rank and the kiosk, member portal, and drop-in checkout all hold below-rank students back. Coaches can still let anyone in.
Only coaches change ranks
Owners, managers, and coaches can promote; front-desk staff can't. Every change is logged with who made it.
Ranks come with you when you switch
The importer brings ranks over from your old system, so nobody gets reset to white belt on moving day.
Owners ask
01Can I track BJJ stripes?
Yes — your ladder's rungs are yours to name, so "Blue belt", "Blue belt · 1 stripe" and so on can each be a rung, and grading results and class minimums follow them.
02Does it decide who's ready to test?
No — the instructor does. CornerDesk keeps each student's attendance history and past gradings on their profile so you have what you need, but who's ready is your call.
03Can different programs have different ladders?
Not yet — each gym has one rank ladder today. Because the rungs are yours to name, one ladder can hold both your kids' and adults' belts.
04Can I restrict a class to certain belts?
Yes. Set a minimum rank on a class and members below it can't book or check in from the kiosk, portal, or drop-in page. Coaches can override at the desk.
05Do I lose ranks when I import from Zen Planner?
No. The importer maps ranks from your export onto each member, and you review everything in a preview before it's saved.
